NEOTEC Project – Funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU

 

Our company has been selected as a beneficiary of the NEOTEC program of CDTI, with the support of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRM) under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR). This European and national funding drives an ambitious R&D project aimed at transforming the way organizations manage the traceability, authenticity, and digital security of their data, documents, and images.

The project combines blockchain, artificial intelligence, and advanced software architectures to address the critical challenges of integrity, trust, and automation in highly demanding industrial and corporate environments.

 

INNOVATION IN DIGITAL TRACEABILITY

One of the project’s pillars is the development of Filechain, a cryptographic chaining system that ensures the integrity of information. Each document or image is converted into a block linked to the previous one through SHA-256 hashing functions, ensuring that any alteration can be immediately detected.

This development is complemented by the implementation of Merkle Trees, which make it possible to organize and certify large volumes of information in a hierarchical and scalable way. This allows for fast and flexible verification of data, a key factor in certification, auditing, and quality control processes across industrial sectors.

 

BLOCKCHAIN APPLIED TO INDUSTRY

Another cornerstone is the application of smart contracts and tokenization within private blockchain networks.

A private Ethereum environment has been deployed, configured with consensus tests and specialized nodes to ensure security, neutrality, and efficiency.

On top of this infrastructure, smart contracts based on the ERC-1155 standard have been designed to tokenize industrial assets (machines, components, certificates) and record changes in their lifecycle.

The hybrid on-chain/off-chain architecture allows critical identifiers and verification data to be stored on the blockchain, while larger documentation remains in external systems—balancing security with scalability.

This approach lays the foundations for decentralized industrial traceability, with applications in supply chains, critical asset maintenance, and regulatory certifications.

 

ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE AGAINST FRAUD

The third area of the project tackles the growing challenge of image falsification and manipulation through advanced artificial intelligence techniques.

A convolutional neural network (CNN) has been developed and optimized to detect synthetic, altered, or AI-generated images.

The model combines ResNet-based architectures with innovative training and evaluation strategies, achieving high accuracy in detecting manipulated content.

Using patch-based analysis and layered inference, the AI not only classifies images but also generates forensic heatmaps highlighting altered areas.

This technology is integrated into the corporate platform to deliver real-time image verification services, with applications in sectors such as insurance, certification, digital media, and industry.
